One-armed bandit draws tradeshow crowd

JackPot Promotions Inc. of Las Vegas, Nev., has unveiled their new promotional device, "The JackPot Machine."

The JackPot Machine is a look-a-like, play-a-like Las Vegas style one-armed bandit that awards players with custom printed coupons, incentive offers or show giveaways.

"The machine guarantees a crowd will be drawn to any booth at a trade show or convention," said President Randy Decker. "It is fully programmable, enabling the customer to choose how many winners and what they will win.

"People literally stand in line for a free pull. The JackPot machine can be tailored to fit any type of giveaway. We've utilized the machine successfully at conventions, trade shows, fairs, festivals, grand openings, retail and shopping mall promotions. It is an extremely 'user-friendly' booth incentive."

JackPot Promotions will soon introduce an optional magnetic card reader system, which when coupled with the machine, will control the number of pulls a player can take -- and track individual information on name, title, company, etc. The card reader can later be down loaded to any computer format, thereby generating a data base for lead follow-ups.

Bayer Pharmaceutical Division rented eight machines for their booth at the 1995 American Urological Association's Annual Convention and during a four-day period, doctors attending the show, pulled the handles over 37,000 times. The reels on the machines sported custom graphics displaying the Bayer logo, as well as illustrators of bladders and kidneys!
